What it is and how it works

The chlorine in mains water is useful for disinfection, but in the process it damages reverse osmosis membranes, degrades resins and affects taste, odor and some chemical reactions. We remove it with activated carbon filters, which retain chlorine and organic matter by adsorption, or by dosing a reducing agent such as sodium metabisulfite when an immediate, controlled response is needed.

Benefits

  • Extends the service life of reverse osmosis membranes.
  • Removes chlorine taste and odor from product water.
  • Reduces organic compounds and disinfection by-products.
  • Protects ion exchange resins.

Technical features

  • Coconut shell granular activated carbon filters.
  • Automatic backwash to prevent compaction and channeling.
  • Control with residual chlorine or ORP measurement at the outlet.
  • Industrial and commercial equipment.
  • Flow rates from 0.1 to 1,000 m³/h.
